The Music Meets Film showcase will bring up-and-coming Europe’s film music scene to your attention.
International showcase event showcases different talented young film composers from Estonia (Ülo Krigul, Tauno Aints and Aleksandr Žedeljov) as well as composers from Denmark (Patricio Fraile) and Poland (Łukasz Pieprzyk). Selection is curated by Estonian Composers Union and Apollo Music.
The composers will demonstrate their scoring skills by playing their 5 minute showreels or clips from previous works. They are open to sharing their past work and future plans and are ready to talk about potential international collaborations.
The event is being moderated by Estonian Public Broadcasting journalist, film maker and start-upper Jüri Muttika.
ESTONIA

Ülo Krigul
A contemporary composer with a passion for film composing.
Over the past 12 years he has worked on rather diverse genres and styles of film extending from experimental animations and shorts to full length feature films. His academic education acquired in music academies in Tallinn and Vienna allows him to deal with both sophisticated large symphonic orchestrations and modern sample based electronic soundscapes. Therefore, his soundtracks are sometimes quite unconventional atmospheric blends of acoustic instrumentation and custom-made samplings.
His continuous collaboration with inter- nationally acclaimed Estonian director Veiko Õunpuu has brought his film music to the most prominent festival programs both in Europe and the States.
Besides that, he is constantly busy with commissions for music festivals and orchestras both in Estonia and beyond. His first opera “Swan Bone City” was premiered in 2016 at the Saaremaa Opera Festival.
